Before closing the hood, make sure the area around the hood is free of obstacles and no gloves, rags or any other combustible materials are left under the hood. Failure to do so could cause a fire and result in death or serious injury, or damage to the car. |

Make sure the hood is completely closed and locked before driving. Failure to do so could cause the hood to open while driving, which could result in serious injury or death. |

Make sure power is turned off before doing anything under the hood. Failure to do so can result in serious injury or death. |

Only hold the edges of the hood when opening or closing. Do not press on the hood, otherwise it may cause damage to the hood. |

Several maintenance tasks begin with opening the hood.
To open the hood:

Press the icon on the center display.
|
|
5. |
Slip your fingers underneath the gap opened by the hood.
|
|
6. |
Pull the hood upwards.
|
When all maintenance tasks are finished, the hood must be properly closed again.
To close the hood:

Make sure the area under the hood is free from foreign objects such as rags or tools, and make sure the movement of the hood is not blocked by anything.

2. |
Hold the edge of the hood with both hands and lower the hood until it lies against the hood latch. Do not let it fall freely.
|
|
3. |
Push the hood down with both hands, until it closes fully.
|
|
4. |
Once the hood has clicked into place, gently pull on the edge of the hood to make sure it has fully engaged with the lock.
|
The hood and hood mechanisms are sensitive components. Never press on the lower parts of the hood.
