Power modes

A powered-on car can be in one of three modes:
  Inactive
  Convenience
  Driving
Each mode determines which functions are active or available.
Inactive mode
Inactive mode activates when you unlock the car while it is powered off. In this mode, some functions such as climate control and charging can be controlled or activated remotly.
Convenience mode
From inactive mode, convenience mode activates when you open any door. This mode powers comfort and convenience features such as climate control, infotainment, and seat adjustment.
Driving mode
Driving mode activates when you shift to D or R with a valid key inside the car. In this mode, all functions including airbags and related safety functions, are active, and the car is ready to drive.
If the car is in driving mode, parked, and the driver door is opened, the car returns to convenience mode.
Note: If you have used the NFC card to unlock the car, the NFC card must be placed on the induction area in the central console to start the car.
