Electronic stability control
Electronic stability control helps the driver to maintain steering control. The electronic stability control improves the car's stability and traction by automatically applying the necessary brake force to each wheel. When the system is activated, the ESC symbol

flashes on the driver display.
If the ESC symbol illuminates constantly in the driver display, there may be a fault in the electronic stability control system.
The electronic stability control system consists of the following subsystems:
| • | Traction control |
| • | Anti roll-over protection |
| • | Cornering traction control |
Electronic stability control can be set to off, standard, or sport mode.
In sport mode, intervention from the system is reduced, permitting more slip and giving more control to the driver.
Sport mode also provides more traction, even on loose surfaces such as deep snow or loose sand.
